Northern AZ is one of the Scenic Mecca’s of the West. We will visit The Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River, Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley both on the Navajo Nation. The tour starts on Monday morning April 29th in Flagstaff, AZ at 8am and ends in Flagstaff on the evening of May 3rd.
Day 1
Leave Flagstaff heading north to Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River. From the parking lot there is a 1 mile hike to the edge of the 1,000 ft cliffs that form Horseshoe Bend. Mid-day will find us in Upper Antelope Canyon a magnificent slot canyon. Time permitting we will the head for Lower Antelope Canyon. We will spend the night in Page.
Day 2
We will drive to South Coyote Buttes to shoot Cottonwood Cove and White Pockets, they are spectacularly beautiful multicolored rock formations, similar to the “Wave”.
Day 3
We will head for Monument Valley, a Navajo Nation Park where we will spend the rest of the day shooting until the light is gone. We will spend the night at the Monument Valley Lodge and visit the Trading Post, in historic Goulding, UT. (We can adjust the schedule if the group is interested in going to Hunt’s Mesa in Monument Valley).
Day 4
An early morning shoot at Monument Valley. We will leave the Monument after lunch and head to the Grand Canyon for a late afternoon shoot, spending the night in Tusayan, AZ just outside the park.
Day 5
A dawn to mid-morning shoot of the Grand Canyon, returning to Flagstaff mid-afternoon where the tour ends.
To photograph Horseshoe bend you will need a wide angle lens 14mm to 16mm. For the rest of the tour bring lenses from 28mm to 400mm, macro, zoom lenses, a flash, tripod and a shutter release cable.
This Northern Arizona Photo Tour is all inclusive, with ground transportation starting and returning to Flagstaff, meals (except alcohol), rooms and park permits. This tour is limited to six (6) participants for everyone’s comfort.
