Tom Whetten at camp in the Serengeti

Tom Whetten Working Hard in front of the Dining Tent

Hi all, I’m live from the Serengeti. I’ve been on the Serengeti taking photos and helping other photographers for three weeks with seven to go. What a great time! Since I’ve been here, we’ve been charged by a large Black Rhino from the front and an upset mother Elephant who didn’t like us being on the road and near her baby. But the most exciting was being in an open vehicle with a large male Lion at 15′ looking directly up my lens into my eyes and twitching his tail in annoyance. You know I made it out in one piece because here’s the photo. When my driver saw him twitching his tail, we beat a hasty retreat, and yep, we were on the road.
